Conference: Rethinking The Historical Fantasy of the Modern in the Present

Drawing on Meltem Ahıska's 2003 article "Occidentalism: The Historical Fantasy of the Modern" we aim to rethink the themes of the East-West dichotomy, Ottoman-Turkey relations, modernity, fantasy, and temporality today in an interdisciplinary conference with the esteemed faculty member of Boğaziçi University's Sociology Department, Meltem Ahıska, to be held on January 6 at 2:00 PM in Kriton Curi Hall.
